After class on Wednesday, I was approached by a couple of students who had already read Don’t Make Me Think, and were looking for the next book to read for their usability education. With that in mind, I came home and browsed my bookshelf, and there was the answer. Web Usability Handbook (second edition), by Mark Pearrow was the book that I first used to organize my class three years ago (the class has evolved into its own structure since then). It’s a great inventory of theory, techniques and advice. The Amazon featured review, by the way, does not give this book its proper due. Its quite good.
Is this a required text? If so what part we should read first or for next class?
“Web Usability Handbook” is not a required text. Its just a reading suggestion for those students who may have already read “Don’t Make Me Think” and wanted to move on independently.
