- Here is a spreadsheet that scales well for interviewing many subjects
- Worksheet: Usability Test Plan — Note: if you are in the class, login to your Visicog account and access the document directly so you can type your answers right in
Homework
- Download the free book, Research Based Web Design & Usability Guidelines.
- Browse through the Guidelines book, and email in a list of 5 guidelines that surprised you. Please also describe why you selected each guideline (E.G., was it a consideration you never thought of? Does the guideline correlate with your own experience? Do you disagree with the guideline? etc).
- Create a Usability Test Plan, using the worksheet I shared with your Google account. Choose any site that you like for the test. However, I highly recommend you choose something that doesn’t require the participant to create a user account or access to their email.
- Fill in all the yellow fields in the worksheet
- Share the document with me via the instructions in the worksheet before the next class
- Write the script for each task on a separate index card. You will hand these index cards to the user.
